The Mountain Bus connects the mountain and the city together, and makes it easy for those residing in Rjukan to explore Gausta and the surrounding area.

The bus stops at all stops on the road, signal clearly. Earlier departure due to roadworks on the route; read more about the roadworks here.

After 1:00 PM, guests are transported to and from the hotel as needed; please let the reception know if you wish to take the bus. When the bus shuttles between Gausta, Gaustabanen and Stavsro, it runs as often as needed. Let the bus driver know if you are going to Gaustabanen or Stavsro.

Gaustabanen
Gaustabanen is a funicular railway, inside Gaustatoppen. This is a very unique touristattraction. No similiar railway is to be found in North-Europe!

If you have a desire to hike to Gaustatoppen, the best place to start is Stavsro. The path is 4km one way, and suitable for both children and adults.
