Birkelunden Bed & Breakfast is centrally located in the World Heritage town of Rjukan in Telemark. Here you'll live idyllically by the river Måna, surrounded by beautiful greenery, while being within walking distance of shops, restaurants, a cinema, the tourist office and Rjukanbadet.
This is a perfect starting point for experiencing the destination's many attractions, such as the Norwegian Industrial Workers Museum at Vemork, the Hardangervidda National Park Center, Gaustatoppen and the Gaustabanen cable car.
Rjukan is located at the foot of the Hardangervidda, and Birkelunden is a good stopover whether you are starting or ending your trip in the area. In winter, there is a ski bus to Gausta – one of Norway's largest ski centers.
Birkelunden Bed & Breakfast is owned and operated by Arena Kompetanse AS, which is an employment and inclusion company. We offer work and job training for people who need extra support in working life.
The accommodation has a total of 42 beds divided into 18 double rooms, two single rooms and one apartment with two bedrooms. The apartment and four of the double rooms have their own bathroom and TV with Chromecast. The other rooms have a sink in the room and share a shower and toilet in the hallway. All rooms have a refrigerator, and bed linen and towels are included. In the apartment, guests must make their own beds.
Breakfast is included for all rooms, but not for the apartment. There is no opportunity to cook for yourself at our place, and we therefore encourage guests to use the city's many restaurants.
We also offer a TV lounge, a drying room for sports equipment, free wireless internet and free parking in our own parking lot. Some rooms allow dogs. Extra beds and cots can be provided subject to capacity.
