A cozy, small family campsite by Lake Sandvatn in Hovin, approximately 60 km from Rjukan and 50 km from Kongsberg.
We offer 8 rental cabins accommodating 2–4 people. All cabins are equipped with kitchenware, a coffee maker, a refrigerator, a hot plate, duvets, and pillows. Six of the cabins feature a fireplace or wood-burning stove.
Activities
Playground, boat and canoe rentals, swimming, a fire pit, fishing, and lovely hiking trails through forests and mountains. We also have a nice wooded area that children love to explore.
The campsite itself is closed during the winter, but cabins are available for rent year-round.
Showers and toilets are located in the sanitary building right next to the cabins. There is also a kitchen area for washing up. Washing machines and tumble dryers are available for use.

We also have pitches for caravans, motorhomes, and tents.
The campsite is situated in beautiful surroundings. After spending one night here, guests often decide to stay another.
The local area offers excellent hiking opportunities in forests and mountains, with marked trails and cycling paths. Hiking maps can be purchased at the campsite.
Sandvatn offers fantastic swimming and fishing opportunities, and the water is often pleasantly warm!
The area is rich in cultural heritage—particularly related to the era of timber floating—and is also known for its fascinating geology, as mining operations took place here in the 17th century.
