Gaustatoppen Tourist Cabin – a stay above the clouds
Experience one of Norway’s most iconic mountain stays at Gaustatoppen Tourist Cabin, located just below the summit of Gaustatoppen (1,883 metres above sea level).
From the top, you can enjoy one of the widest views in Norway – on clear days you can see across vast parts of southern Norway, nearly one-sixth of the country.
Built in 1893 from natural stone taken directly from the mountain, the cabin combines authentic history with a truly unique location.
A true mountain experience
Gaustatoppen Tourist Cabin is a staffed lodge operated by the Norwegian Trekking Association (DNT), welcoming hikers and visitors throughout the seasons.
Here you can:

The cabin serves food and drinks daily during the winter and summer seasons, which run until the end of the autumn holidays.
