Food at Mogen Turisthytte

At Mogen Turisthytte, the dining experience is as powerful as the mountains surrounding the cabin.

Here, tradition, history and locally sourced ingredients are the basis for everything served – made from scratch with care, love and pride in the mountain food culture on the Hardangervidda plateau.

After a long day in the mountains, many gather around Mogen's famous pizza, a regular highlight on the lunch menu. Here you'll also find sour cream porridge, hot soups and fresh pastries – real mountain food made with quality and good ingredients.

Breakfast offers homemade specialties such as Mogen jam, liver pâté and other spreads made in the traditional way. The flavors tell stories of mountain farms, hunting, fishing and food culture that has been preserved through generations.

Dinner is the big highlight of the day. Every evening a tasty three-course dinner is served where local ingredients take center stage. Here you can be served aquavit-marinated trout, port-marinated venison and homemade flatbread as a starter, followed by homemade sausages made with highland cattle from a neighboring farm. The meal is rounded off with classic traditional desserts such as suspended milk – a taste of Norwegian mountain tradition as it has always been.

At Mogen, food is about more than just meals. It is about storytelling, craftsmanship and great experiences around the table.

Welcome to the table!
